A
true-blooded Dipolognon but ironically born in Dapitan City is the
second son of Mr. Marcelo Mapa Bustaliño from Mabini, Biasong
Dipolog City and Ms. Lourdes Lear Almagro from Olingan, Dipolog
City. He took his elementary education at Estaka Central School. He
studied his high school at Zamboanga del Norte National High School
as a consistent honor student and graduated 8th Honorable
Mentioned. Also he is consistent dean’s lister and graduated
 Magna
Cum Laude at University of San Jose – Recoletos in Cebu City when he
took up his course in Commerce major in Accounting. He passed the
Professional Licensure Examination for Accountants. He works in big
companies in Makati, Metro Manila during his professional endeavors;
he works for Philippine National Oil Company (accounting clerk,
accountant), KPMG – Fernandez, Lopez Santos, (external auditor and
was sent to Jakarta, Indonesia for international audit) Match Data
Philippines (Finance & Admin Manager) and Micro Systems (Finance &
Admin Manager)
The art and directing inclination of Arcelo his real first name,
started in his elementary days. Active in school programs and
activities During high school, directed some drama and plays
assigned as class activities. Because he felt the beauty and
fulfillment in shows and plays, at 14 years old, bored with the
Fiesta celebration every 8th of May in his hometown at
Egot, Dipolog City (with out any cultural shows during nighttime)
the following year he organized his first mini beauty pageant. “Miss
Young Pacemaker” candidates were teenagers who reside only in Egot
ages 12 to 16 years old, which today is still one of a fiesta
event. During his college days, he directed the Miss Junior
Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) – University of San Jose
Recoletos Chapter.
It
was in 1990 where the love of art, fashion and directing shows was
really felt by heart, thus while working as an accountant in Manila,
he studied fashion design at SLIM’S FASHION SCHOOL in Makati City.
He watched shows and plays in Cultural Center of the Philippines and
Repertory Philippines and of course never to miss the Beauty
contests to see it live, the Binibining Pilipinas, Mutya ng
Pilipinas, Miss Philippines and Miss Earth etc. Moreso, he loves to
watch live concerts of Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera and Lani
Misalucha and others. But his first love is the glitz and glamour of
the runway during fashion shows. Not only he enjoyed these shows,
plays and concerts but also of course the concept and direction of
these shows for he believes that you would really learn from it.
In
May of 1999, Eloi took his vacation in Dipolog and just resigned
from his job at Makati, Metro Manila, learned that the EXECOM of
Mutya sa Dipolog under the chairmanship of Ms. Joy A. Ang and Ms.
Evelyn T. Uy as the Honorary Chairwoman, needed a choreographer of
the said pageant. Without much ado and felt that he was equipped of
exposure and experience, he applied. He conceptualized and directed
the show for 5 years now. Good reviews were given to the total show
each year. Aside from directing shows, he is a photo director and
styling of some fashion models and Movie actors (Ronni Rickets,
Allen Dizon) and Movie actresses (Regine Tolentino, Sahina Magdayo,
Angel Panganiban, Hanni Miller, Tracy Torres, Barbara Milano and
etc.)
Currently, Eloi established his own fashion shop as a full time
fashion designer whose business address is ELOI A BUSTALIÑO, FASHION
COUTURE PLUS at 465 Boni Avenue, New Zaniga, Mandaluyong City. Soon,
this December 2002 he will establish his branch at Liño 051 Mabini
St. Biasong, Dipolog City. He also coordinates wedding, debut and
other special events.
Aside for the direction of Mutya sa Dipolog, he conceptualized and
directed shows made in Manila, to wit:
Little Angels of May (a angel costumes contest, ages 3 to 12) at

PTKMP fashion show at Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon City
Miss Ellen Skin Care (beauty pageant) at Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon
